My first phone bank experience. DNC is working on turning NC blue.

It was different than I thought it would be. We called people in NC (we are calling from TN) who were potential Hillary supporters. If they were, the objective was to get them to volunteer. Also important was reminding those people about early voting. It was a very positive experience and the organization was impressive. I'm going to do it every week until the election.

Doing campaign work is so much better than sitting at home fretting or throwing your shoe at the tv!

Bet you met some interesting fellow workers, too.

Mostly got VM but got through to a few and they were pumped! Great staff, coordinator was from IL and worked on Bernie's campaign. He's been here since May. I signed up for canvassing in Oct for the GOTV. Met people who were registering voters...they said it's been great: best location was our fabulous dog park that brings lots of young people there from Denver. They are confident about CO but are not complacent!

Most of the time I do that, I get disconnected numbers or not home/not picking up.
Out of a standard 3 sheets, maybe i will get 5-6 calls (out of 70) with people answering.
This gets better after 6pm. I guess people are home and are willing to answer their cellphone or landline.
Those days, I am dealing with the data entry and database itself. I do recall memorable experiences on the phone with people.

I once got a person who asked me "who is Hillary Clinton ?" when I was inquiring whether or not she would support her for the election.. You would think she has 100 % name recognition. I was shocked so I passed the phone to the local organizer to let her
have a go at it. It turns out it was an elderly lady who had trouble understanding me on the phone..
Thats my french accent..

Out of hundreds of calls, we only got 3 or 4 Trump supporters. The DNC database is really well curated.
