I try to be objective when looking at things. It actually looks like a fairly sweet picture of a dad with his daughter. If it wasn't Donald Trump I would actually say, "hey that is a nice picture of a dad and his kid". The problem is, given Trump's statements and actions around Ivanka and women in general, the picture takes on a less innocent quality.

There appears to be something very unsettling about the relationship between the two.

I think that the caption is off on the original post photo. If we did not know that was Trump, we might think that it was a nice picture. Being that it is Trump and given all he has said and the optics of the second photo and the captures from the RNC convention, definitely a high ick factor.

There are pictures of when I was young where I am sitting on my mom's, dad's, and other relatives laps or I'm hugging them or they are kissing me, but given our relationship you just look at them and say "Aww, that is sweet".

It is sad that we cannot do that with Trump and his daughter, but you cannot undo the damage of continually creepy statements and actions regarding his views on women.

When I saw how he described his other daughter (with Marla Maples), I mean, the question was something like, "Who do you see your daughter taking after in looks?" or something to that effect. You could answer that in so many ways. "Well, if she takes after mom, she will be very beautiful", "I hope she gets my good looks", etc... Trump goes for "Well, she has her mother's legs (mind you, Maples is sitting there in a mini skirt) then proceeds to say, "I don't know if she'll get (and he uses his hands/arms to gesture large breasts) That was sick.

I have a young daughter, and I think she will grow up to be a smart, loving, and physically beautiful adult. I don't think about, or care about the shape of her legs, the size of her breasts, or anything else that sexualizes her, because I am not a pervert.

I was looking for photos of other men with their teenage daughters to juxtapose or compare just to kind of nuance the situation a bit. Naturally I found my way to pictures of President Obama and Melia and Sasha, two beautiful young daughters and their dad. Sadly, my skills for saving and posting are horrible so I cannot place them here, but as I was looking at them I felt similar feelings to how I feel with my own daughter. You see just love and caring. Nothing creepy at all.
