The Hillary Clinton campaign held a special press call to call on the debate moderator, media, and voters to fact check Donald Trump. In order to help the press, debate moderators, and voters fact check Trump, the Clinton campaign has released 19 pages of Trump lies.
HFA Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri said, Donald Trump has shown a clear pattern of repeating provably false lies hoping that nobody will correct him. As we head into this debate, we want voters and viewers to be on alert that they should keep track. Any candidate that tells this many lies, clearly cant win the debate on the merits.
In total there are 19 pages of fact checked Trump lies that can be read here.

(30,811 posts)He could win the debate with a string of lies. The truth would come later, as an afterthought.
This way it is forefront on everyone's minds.

(18,634 posts)BRIAN STELTER (HOST): What about the issue of fact-checking that's been talked about so much in the past few weeks? Does the commission want Lester Holt to fact-check?
JANET BROWN: The commission asks independent, smart journalists to be the moderators, and we let them decide how they're going to do this. But I have to say, in our history, the moderators have found it appropriate to let the candidates be the ones that talk about the accuracy or the fairness of what the other candidate or candidates might have said. I think, personally, if you start getting into fact-checking, I'm not sure, what is a big fact, what's a little fact, and if you and I have different sources of information, does your source about the unemployment rate agree with my source? I don't think it's a good idea to get the moderator into essentially serving as the Encyclopedia Britannica, and I think it's better for that person to facilitate and to depend on the candidates to basically correct each other as they see fit.

Seems to me that the whole point of the debate is to give voters real information instead of a glorified campaign ad.
If a candidate is lying that's essential information that voters need know.

(49,001 posts)He thinks he can fluster Hillary by a rapid fire stream of lies and gross exaggerations.
There will be no time for Hillary to fact-check more than a handful during the debate, and even then he might try to turn it into a spectacle by interrupting her correction with a couple more lies.
He's going to ignore some rules and depend on many voters not doing any followup, depend on them taking their impressions from the debate itself ("He's a strong man, he'll fix things" .

(18,634 posts)If he constantly accuses her of lying on every point she'll have to play defense all during the debate.
It's going to be painful on many levels.
I don't expect a great triumph for Hillary because he's going to confuse the issues so much that no one will know what's real or not.

(6,917 posts)There are so many factual corrections, it's like those fast-scrolling corrections on SNL's version of "Fox & Friends".
But seriously, this is the first time the Trump strategy of overwhelming people with too much bullshit to keep up with, has been met with so many corrections it is too much to read in one sitting. It's more corrections than what Trump can spew in one show.
Well played, Ms. Clinton, well played.

When primary message of a candidate's surrogates on the day before a debate is that they oppose fact checking, that candidate is a hot mess.

It has gotten so very sad for Donald on the fact front, he merits a new hashtag #TrumpCheck.
