Related: About this forumIs Ohio No Longer a Battleground?
After decades as one of Americas most reliable political bellwethers, an inevitable presidential battleground that closely mirrored the mood and makeup of the country, Ohio is suddenly fading in importance this year, the New York Times reports.
Hillary Clinton has not been to the state since Labor Day, and her campaign has yet to schedule a return visit, effectively acknowledging that Donald Trump will be hard to beat here. Ohio has failed to keep up with the demographic changes transforming the United States, growing older, whiter and less educated than the nation at large.

Ohio's state party is a mess. It was dominated by corrupt individuals with ties to organized crime for years who have actively worked to prevent new people from moving into promenence.
Ted Stricland and Richard Cordray worked very hard to clean up Ohio and the party, but the corrupt individuals joined forces with the GOP crooks to continue stealing Ohioans blind.
The news media outlets in Ohio are almost completely taken over by extreme right wing elements, so few Ohioans even understand how badly Ohio is being pillaged for the benefit of the very wealthy friends of Kasich.
