You just can't make this stuff up!! (Latest from Rush)

If I didn't find this on Huffington I wouldn't believe it. It sounds much more like something from The Onion or Borowitz. But here is Rush (following in the footsteps of Pat Robertson?) claiming that hurricanes are a "Left-Wing conspiracy!!

Rush Limbaugh Thinks Hurricanes Are Part Of A Left-Wing Conspiracy

Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh suggested this week that the National Hurricane Center was “playing games” with its forecasts to cause false alarms and scare people into believing in climate change.

“It’s in the interest of the left to have destructive hurricanes because then they can blame it on climate change, which they can desperately continue trying to sell,” he said on “The Rush Limbaugh Show.”

At least that's what I understand.

My opinion? That there will be bloviating whale sightings soon off the east Florida coast.

Thar she blows, Matie!

They have multiple homes and maintain legal residency in FL for tax purposes. They certainly don't spend summers there and can take off in their private jets when a storm approaches.

He and his ilk will throw it in.

Does it burn? Yes it does. And his followers will let it reinforce those ideas.

Buy a bunch of beach front property along the gulf coast and keep for 20 years. When he has to take a boat out to his house he may change his mind.

He's always been a LIAR, but he usually tries to conceal the deceit with a sprinkling of truth to throw off people -- e.g., claiming that the Clinton Foundation gives very little to charity by focusing on a particular section of a (real) tax return that doesn't tell the whole story because of the CF's accounting procedures.

Nothing new here.

When you think about it, there is no truth to picking a minor 6% item off a return and completely misrepresenting it and the entire return. The Clintons have been forced to be so scrupulous that their enemies have almost no kernels of truth to build lies around. Not that they need them--just as sloppy records management at the State Department is not a kernel of truth for their hundreds of lies and insinuations about criminal behavior.

... like an actual tax return, but he'll then misrepresent it. If anyone is too lazy to dig into it beyond a cursory check, they're more easily fooled.

It's like when lots of "aid" was given to Egypt in the past. I heard a conservative propagandist on the radio mention the amount of aid (the true part), but he then misrepresented the reason for it. He implied it was all for humanitarian purposes, and that's what Democrats do with "your tax dollars" instead of helping poor people here. When I fact-checked it later, the aid was given on the condition that it be spent on weapons made here! So, in reality, it was an indirect form of "corporate welfare" that Republicans love so much since it mostly benefits the wealthy.

During the tobacco hearings I happened to turn him on and was held spellbound by a really carefully crafted bit of ditto-head manipulation that ran about 15 minutes or so.

The truth he started with was that potato skins have nicotine in them. The conclusion he skillfully and gradually brought listeners to was that since we aren't addicted to potatoes, obviously nicotine in cigarettes isn't really addictive either. I hadn't examined every word, but his argument seemingly lead completely rationally right up to the final tiny step off that cliff.

For that moment I was an unwilling Limbaugh admirer, but I suspect he's lost whatever he had then. Or maybe it's that skill in lying isn't needed anymore. Just...the lies. Any lies that feed the enormous demand for them on the right.

I haven't listened to him for many years, but he's been pretty crafty at sounding "reasonable" with his load of bunk!
