... Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a rising GOP star once considered a potential running mate for Romney, called his argument “absolutely wrong” at a press conference on Wednesday that opened a meeting of the Republican Governors Association.

“No, I think that’s absolutely wrong,” he said, according to Politico. “Two points on that: One, we have got to stop dividing the American voters. We need to go after 100 percent of the votes, not 53 percent. We need to go after every single vote.”

“And, secondly,” he continued, “we need to continue to show how our policies help every voter out there achieve the American Dream, which is to be in the middle class, which is to be able to give their children an opportunity to be able to get a great education.”

“So, I absolutely reject that notion, that description,” he said. “I think that’s absolutely wrong” ...

3. It probably also bothers Jindal because he, unlike Romney, is looking for a future in elective

office. Pragmatically, he would want to distance himself from this sort of poison, since he is smart enough to realize that the GOP has no future if they keep it up.

5. I was watching fox"news'" coverage of the gop Governor's convention ...

and had to laugh. Jindal spoke about inclusion and the gop defining their policies without demonizing any segment of the electorate ... then the very next speaker (I don't recall who he was) proceeded to demonize the youth vote as "favoring socialism because they are living in their Mom's basement and 'this is great'!", and African-Americans because ObamaCare, apparently, offers us something that is unavailable to white folks (who knew?), and Hispanics because they are all here in the U.S. illegally to depress wages and sponge off the social safety net.

It would not surprise me, one bit, if the Jindal's and Rubio's of the gop just packed it in, and run as Independents in their next races.

8. The GOP is facing some big problems. Years of pandering to the "base" has created a monster.

Thinking I might see something reasonable, I went to check out Bobby Jindal's webpage. I surfed over and the first thing I saw was some pro-NRA statement. Ok, so he has to suck up to the NRA: it is a republican organization after all. So I keep reading and he has to go on and complain about the government taking away people's guns. ...More hogwash.

They just can't get away from the red meat pandering. Always going for the lowest common denominator. I, personally, see no light at the end of the tunnel for them. Charging towards the dark ages just seems like a bad idea to me. Sad.

12. Minorities in the Republican Party speaking up will fracture the party permanently.

Unfortunately there really aren't enough minorities in the party to do it, and most of those that are in the party aren't going to speak up anyway. The Republican Party is in a very tough spot. If they try to embrace minorities at all, or even projects the idea of racial inclusiveness, their support is done. They are well aware that much of their base is racist and have spent their entire existence purposefully nurturing that racism for political gain.

However, just like with 100% of all conservative ideas, from Reagan Mortgaging the country's financial future, to the constant refusal to pay for schools, this strategy also wasn't very forward thinking. It's about to blow up in their face.

Yes, we've said it, and hoped for it, before and it didn't come to pass. And maybe this time isn't quite the final nail in the coffin either. But whether it's right now, on 10 years from now, the republican party is done. While race is still a huge issue in this country, we are almost at the tipping point, if we haven't passed it already.
