Never ready for prime-time. His ham-handed questioning of Nancy Pelosi's age was handled with grace and class by Pelosi but
she got in a pretty good zinger. She said she found the question offensive but, "You probably don't realize that."

He hasn't a clue.

After running his mouth off last week insulting Nancy Pelosi, he should be ashamed to show his face in public. But not little Luke. Can't stand him.

He consistently threw softball questions at Bush/Cheney while grilling Democratic opponents mercilessly in the run up to the Iraq War. And his devious little hidden Bush '04 campaign button he kept pinned under his lapel that he flashed to Republicans didn't help with me either.

Not a popular stance by any means, since so many people believe to this day that Tim Russert was the watermark of good journalism... but I was always wary of him and then, when it was clear that his 'fair and balanced' schtick was just that, I quit watching MTP altogether.

I wasn't happy that he died- and he was beloved by many, but his replacement is even worse than he was and his son is a pathetic joke.

during the Bush years.

He would do his ears pinned back like a dog thing when interviewed people, but the questions were MARKEDLY different for the Rs vs the Ds. Absolutely drilled Ds while asking pointed, but HARMLESS questions to Rs. And, like a lot of the so called "liberal media" types the condescending tone and mannerism he took with Ds while being so much more relaxed with Rs.

It never ends, the bullshit, but the whole "liberal media" thing just runs through me.

Wasn't really a fan of his dad and definately not him.
He hasn't paid his journalistic dues for that position.
Yeah, he's his daddy's son, but nepotism has no place there.
He isn't bright enough to understand in order to get access to our polytishuns, you need to be able to ask acceptable questions that are not disparaging to the one you want to interview...
Tough questions are one thing, but you have to be able to ask them without insulting the interviewee...

The powers that be apparently thought Luke's talents were best suited for standing on a sail-boat in the Alexandria harbor and announcing which waterfront bars were having hurricane parties.

That event will probably be the career highlight of his promo-reel.
