2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumlol...Patricia Murphy was just reporting on CNN she was in N.C. checking out ground operations.
She said all the MANY Hillary offices were "busy as bee hives". People everywhere working hard, humming with activity. Then she was finally able to find the one lone Trump office where there was one guy "trying to learn how to use his phone". hahahahaha!
When she reported this I started laughing so hard my dog came running over to see if I was alright!!
Damn, this just tickled me to no end!

(56,829 posts)I think Clinton will outperform the polls by several points. She has boots on the ground - people in offices making calls, people to pick up the elderly or infirm and drive them to the polls, etc.

Dumb-shit Donald stubbornly believes his rallies are enough and are all he needs.
Please proceed, dumb-ass!

1) Crooked Hillary
2) The liberal media
3) the GOP establishment and the RNC
4) Fox News
5) His campaign staff
6) Melania Trump (I'm predicting a divorce in 2017)
7) Every state election official in a swing/close state
8) whoever else I forgot

(81,466 posts)I think she'll soon find herself on the way out.
When I saw, earlier this year, that she's 46, I said "uh-oh!" Forty-six? OY! She's in trouble! Fast approaching her sell-by date. Hope she got SOMETHING in the prenup... (Or Laura Wasser as divorce lawyer.)
I do expect that sometime after next year, assuming he loses, he'll find the need to trade the old model in for a fresh new blonde who's much younger (but just a hair older than Ivanka - after all, he did promise his daughter he wouldn't get with any woman her age or younger).

(81,466 posts)Now that would not surprise me. He does like his exotics. And I bet he'd want another blonde.

(11,243 posts)Hardly anyone lives there. Hardly anyone lives in Carteret County, period. Mecklenburg, Wake County and a few others are the population centers.

(11,243 posts)The coastal areas of NC are surprising Democratic, even the white, working class and semi-rural areas. It is up in the mountains that people get crazy. But since this is a barrier island, I am assuming that these are second homes and vacation rentals. Who knows. Trump signs are bad for business, that is for sure! I bet you won't rent there again.

(7,768 posts)Did you get some training?
Hat tip to you for the work!

(454 posts)There are slides and instructions online for how I'll need to prepare. There is also a poll greeter captain who will be overseeing things, so I shouldn't be alone out there without help. I'm supposed to smile, thank people for voting, answer questions and provide information, be respectful to everyone, including those working for opposing candidates, and avoid getting into debates. Also, I can help people sign up to volunteer themselves if they seem interested.

(164 posts)The Hillary Clinton campaign is a fine example of a well-oiled machine. She's got teams everywhere working hard, trying to get the word out and give Hillary more votes. The more the merrier. Trump on the other hand hasn't been oiled. He's rusted up and pretty much ground to a halt.

(45,528 posts)or did Trump just never have much of a ground game to begin with?
I always thought his supporters were mostly the loud types who scream at rallies and insult people online without actually doing much campaign work.
Patiod
(11,816 posts)DK what the Trump office looked like, but I did notice that the local Republicans had a table at a street fair last month in a nearby small (55D/45R) town, and it had literature for local Republicans, but not a word about Trump.
Meanwhile, our Hillary table had big Hillary signs, in addition to signs and literature for McGinty and all the downballot folks.
The Hillary campaign is big and is kicking ass in suburban Philadelphia!
