Are we all in Hell? Is the "election" going to go on forever and ever...

...pulling away as we seem to get close to it, always just out of our reach? Is the possibility of a Trump presidency--always menacing, never quite arriving--some sort of collective punishment for humanity? What did we do, to deserve this ordeal?
