but back in NYC in the day our polling station was within walking distance.

Perhaps they can keep longer hours on Tuesday in case people have trouble getting home from work?

b) it started more than 2 days before the election

c) if you are really pro-union, you should look into the actual reasons for the strike, and consider that the timing has a lot to do with when the current contract ends.
