Transit union idiotcally goes on strike in Philadelphia, 2 days before the elections

The transit union in Philadelphia just went on strike, potentially hurting access to voting sites for minorities.

I'm pro-union. But this could have waited a few days. I hope they don't regret this decision.

1. I thought the transit strike started on November 1st.

2. There's never a "good time" for a strike, at least if you ask the bosses.

We should all stand in solidarity with SEPTA, instead of trying to bust unions.

6. I'd say it's pretty smart of them

the DNC will pressure the city to make a deal.

9. I don't know anything about Philly

but back in NYC in the day our polling station was within walking distance.

Perhaps they can keep longer hours on Tuesday in case people have trouble getting home from work?

10. Nice try, but you are completely wrong. a) strike ENDED this morning

b) it started more than 2 days before the election

c) if you are really pro-union, you should look into the actual reasons for the strike, and consider that the timing has a lot to do with when the current contract ends.

11. It is over and there is never a good time to strike.
