Late tomorrow night, most of the world will stop holding its breath

and relax a bit. When Hillary Clinton gains more than 270 electoral votes securely, you'll hear the collective release of air from the lungs of billions of people.

Economic markets will rise sharply. In the highest levels of government everywhere, leaders will be able to release months of tension. Women in the US and around the world will gain new hope. Immigrants and would-be immigrants to the United States will resume their plans and dreams.

The only places that will not celebrate are Russia and whatever dark basements where Trump supporters are lurking. And polling companies will have to start redesigning their methodologies.

Hasten the hour!
