Did the original Comey letter negatively affect the Senate races?

It certainly looks that way. According to Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight site the Democrat's chances of controlling the Senate have dropped from 72.8% on Oct 28th to 45.7% right now due to the poll results posted in the interim.

That means that it has become likely that Republicans will retain control of the Senate. Let's hope that the Democratic ground game makes the difference in critical races.

The coattails were cut in half, so would likely affect the Senate. Remember there was even talk of a possible House flip until Comey's letter. Likely her margin would have gone higher if the FBI hadn't taken the air out of the media and Trump's items had room to gain traction. Imagine the last 10 days w/o emails 24/7 and the big news was Melania/Russian hacks/Bridgegate.

And that's why, even if we win the presidency, I remain livid over Comey's shenanigans because it very well could have cost us the Senate. We were surging in the Senate races before his foolishness.

Citizen United. Big money ignored Trump and flooded th Senate races to drive up Dem challenger's negatives. I still hope that an expanding lead for Hillary will increase her coat tails in the states with competitive races. We are going to hold on to NV, so we just need 3 pickups in addition to Tammy Duckworth who is a lock. People must stand in line and vote!
