Any professional mixologists in the house?

I think we're gonna a need a long list of good cocktail recipes for tomorrow's nail biter.

I looked at our stockpile of ancient booze bottles, mostly inherited from our dearly departed relatives... does booze have a "Use By" date? And what the hell do you make with the brilliant green melon liqueur that looks like radioactive waste from the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant?

Cucumber Basil Mojito

Serves: 1
Ingredients
1 inch organic cucumber
5 to 6 basil leaves
2 ounces white rum (I used Flor de Cana 4 year extra dry rum)
1 ounce fresh squeezed lime juice
½ ounce honey syrup or simple syrup (1:1)
Soda water
3 thin slices of cucumber for garnish
Small sprig of basil for garnish

Directions
Place cucumber to a cocktail shaker and muddle.
Add basil, white rum, lime juice and honey syrup and fill the shaker with ice.
Shake and double strain into an ice filled highball glass.
Top with soda water.
Garnish with the cucumber slices and sprig of basil.

very clumpy. people bring it occassionally and leave the bottle. we don't drink it and when checked, it is rather chunky.

never had the guts to try it.

80 proof or more it will not spoil. The sweet stuff turns relatively quickly unless kept in the icebox.

And my drink tomorrow...bourbon old fashion. After a few neat Weller 12 year olds.

Good luck.

And I am trying to decide if I want to get a take away from our local Lebanese restaurant, or the local Mexican restaurant. Hmm, if I go Mexican, that requires a Margarita. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

I can see I'll need to go shopping, so I'm saving those for later. We still have to get through Trump's concession speech (or angry temper tantrum), and then there's Inauguration Day.

I have plans to open a bottle of Ska Mole Stout to have with my tacos y burritos while watching the numbers roll in. After that it's probably a celebratory shot or two of Blanton's. If somehow we lose I've got three tall cans of Surly Furious IPA - and I'll probably need a lot more of the Blanton's
