One man, one vote.... One man, one bullet
The premise of one man, one vote is widely accepted as the rule by which our democracy works. Any teabagger Republican will tell you that. "Our Founding Fathers said so"... (so they will tell you). In fact, that was not established into the Constitution until 1964.
They also constantly bring up the second amendment of the Constitution to support their arguments about how our "Founding Fathers" guaranteed the right of every person in the country to own a gun. Alright, so what if we give you that one?
The Bill of Rights was ratified in our original Constitution in 1791. At that time in the history of the planet, "arms" may have been a cannon, a sword, or a single shot musket and mass murder was unheard of.
Can anyone even continue to pretend that Jefferson, Madison, and the rest of our Founding Fathers would have established that law with AK-47's in mind. There was no NRA lobby back then and I like to think these people actually had functioning brains and backbones unlike the cowardly dweebs beholden to the NRA that we elect these days.
So, okay. Let's stick to the 2nd Amendment as the NRA insists. However, let's do it with the Founding Fathers own frame of reference and amend it to read as such:
Our citizens are allowed to own and bear as many "single shot" muskets, swords, kinves, or cannon as they like. However, they must sign an agreement to be available to call up by the armed forces at a moments notice as part of our well regulated militia.
Nowhere in the Constitution is sanity addressed.
