Jason Chaffetz: Impeachment not off table

"Rep. Jason Chaffetz says he’s not taking impeachment off the table when it comes to President Obama’s handling of the attacks in Benghazi.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported Monday that the Utah Republican had called the handling of Benghazi an “impeachable offense,” and that he had vowed to keep searching for answers from the White House."

"Asked Tuesday on CNN what he meant by the comments, Chaffetz said it wasn’t what he was hoping for, but that impeachment was in the “realm of possibility.”

“It’s not something I’m seeking, it’s not the endgame, it’s not what we’re playing for,” he said. “I was simply asked if it was within the realm of possibilities, and I’d say ‘yes.’”

Well I guess the Republicans just don't return favors.

... the GOP will try it.

And some here have already announced that they feel it will be justified, for reasons of their own.

is an understatement.

Their only concern is trying to figure out how they can get away with doing it.

They don't even have a decent poker face. Anyone with half a brain could see this coming (and sometimes mine doesn't work on all cylinders).

My response: Go for it.

Time for them to lay all their cards on the table and put up or shut up. They need to either produce some actual criminal charges/impeachable offenses or just STFU already. I'm getting tired of them dancing around this and putting out all of these baseless allegations and innuendo without producing anything credible- of course, however, if they do, then they know that they will have blown their wad already and won't have anything left by the time the 2014 election or the 2016 election rolls around to keep their base interested/excited.

it goes over like lead balloons with the electorate. You should totally call Bob Barr and Newt Gingrich and ask them how impeaching Bill Clinton worked-out for them.

Remember the Bob Livingston rule, Mr. Chaffetz...any skeletons in your own closet become fair game...so if you're f**king someone who's not your wife (and everybody in DC in politics is f**king someone who they're not married to), some nice journalist or publisher is going to out you. If you went on TV and gloated about cutting the security budget of the State department in the aftermath of Benghazi...

I guess what I'm saying, Jason, is please impeach the President so the Senate can slap you down and y'all can hand the House to the Democrats in 2014 and a growing lead in 2016.

Hey Chaffetz, why don't you stick an acorn up your backside.

The guy is a turd, go read how he insisted in going to Libya last October and tried to talk to Hicks without an attorney from the State Dept. being present (as is the requirement). They tried to claim that the attorney that State had sent didn't have sufficient clearance. State refuted the charge.
