And Brian Williams was pushing Obama admin scandals. If his basement was flooded he would blame Obama.

...it's all about ratings, these days. So scandals are high up on news director punch lists, just behind killings and natural disasters and war. Guys like Williams apparently have conflated the legitimate idea in journalism that news is what's changed or otherwise unusual, into news being whatever is sensational. Which plays right into the hands of scandal- and fear-mongering.
