Here we go again: WI nutbag Senate passes pre-abortion ultrasound bill

http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/viewart/20130612/GPG0101/306120288/State-Senate-passes-abortion-bill-requiring-ultrasounds

MADISON — Wisconsin Senate Republicans abruptly shut off debate Wednesday before a dramatic vote in which they approved a bill that would require women seeking an abortion to first undergo an ultrasound. Democrats tried in vain to be recognized to speak as the roll call vote proceeded despite their objections. Senate President Mike Ellis, R-Neenah, repeatedly banged his gavel so forcefully he broke the base. He shouted at Democrats, saying they were out of order and would not be allowed to speak.

"You're interrupting a roll call and that will not be tolerated, sit down!" Ellis yelled at Minority Leader Chris Larson, D-Milwaukee.
"I understand you're afraid of this debate," Larson said, his microphone turned off.

The bill passed 17-15 with all Republicans in support and Democrats against. It now heads to the Assembly, which was expected to pass it on Thursday. Gov. Scott Walker said Tuesday he would sign it into law.

This sounds like a temper tantrum. I see two year old behavior in many of the republicans & all of the tea party.

"Republicans don't want to govern, they want to rule." ~Molly Ivins

Wasn't it last summer when repub men (& a few repub women!) put out a new hit quote every week, about shutting down women's reproductive rights? What is it about summer that brings this issue to the forefront of their little brains?

The only hope now is a court challenge. I hope someone files it immediately after the bill is signed.

No matter how many times they are told that these kind of bill are not a winning issue for them they push them through.

The GOP wonders why it's losing women voters. How much more obvious does it have to be?

Sen. Mary Lazich, R-New Berlin, gave an impassioned defense of the measure she sponsored, saying it was a small step that would protect women by giving them more information about the decision they have to make.

“In the last 5-10 years I’ve become more and more aware of women suffering from abortion trauma,” Lazich said. “I, we, stand with women for health care.”

I'm literally running out of words for this hypocrisy, since the clear intent is to try and CAUSE trauma and shame. And just who pays for these ultrasounds? How available are they? Immediately or do you have to schedule at a providers convenience?

Leave women and their medical decision to abort the fuck alone. Do they think we're Fragile little flowers and haven't been experiencing pregnancy terminations since, oh since the dawn of humanity? Or, do they just need control over reproduction? Because this shit makes exactly no sense.
