Hannity on his political affiliation, and other highlights from the Fox New host's interview with PlayboyBY JILLIAN RAYFIELD
In a wide-ranging interview with Playboy, Fox News host Sean Hannity contended early on that hes a registered Conservative and not a Republican, though people often mistake me for one. The interview continued on to cover everything from Mitt Romney to climate change to pot decriminalization. Here are the highlights:
On Obamas fear-mongering:
The Republicans have no message discipline. Obama has incredible message discipline. His message right now is Republicans want to poison the air and water. Republicans want kids with autism and Down syndrome and the elderly to fend for themselves. Hes brilliant at fear-mongering, at demagoguery. He is always on the attack, always politicizing everything. Meanwhile, he keeps spending and borrowing us into a trillion dollars in debt.
On whether a Mitt Romney presidency would have ushered in a golden age:
No, but I think you would have had somebody with the experience and the background and, frankly, not as driven by ideology as this president is. Obamas an ideologue. Now, this being Playboy, you probably wont agree with me on this, but I think the president is pretty radical in his views.
On decriminalizing pot:

(15,189 posts)They're so ashamed of their party of "stupid" they claim not to be part of. They're either Libertarian, or Conservative. They vote GOP but claim they are not GOP. Hannity was kissing Rmoney's ass during interviews.

(30,247 posts)We are the Pirates of the State of New York. We work to promote open culture and oppose monopolies; to protect individual privacy; to put people before corporations; to support open and transparent government based on solid evidence and reasoning; and to guarantee equality to all people.
For our values, we have been derided as pirates. For our hope that every person may be free to access all of human knowledge, we have been called pirates. For our belief that one need not ask permission to participate in governance, industry, culture, and other aspects of society, we have been called pirates. For our insistence that citizens should not be surveilled and distrusted as if they are criminals, we have been called pirates. For our rejection of authority and profit-seeking when it does not serve the common good of all people, we have been called pirates.
might be I could belong to this "piracy" party....I used to belong to a gamer's guild called "Pirates Disguised as Bastards".

(22,000 posts)If I were there I'd be tempted to change my party affiliation just for one election if I lived in NY to be able to claim I'm a pirate. Of course I would change it back the day after the election.

(126 posts)That's hilarious coming from a man who does it for a living. There is no pundit I hate more than Hannity. Jones is a nutjob yes, but I won't deny that I get a lot of enjoyment watching him rave like a lunatic. O'Reiley and Limbaugh are egotistical blowhwards, yes, but they aren't partisan cheerleaders to the degree that Hannity is. The only pundit I detest as much as Hannity has to be Michelle Malkin and I'm not quite sure she fits the standard definition of a "pundit".
