Leaving aside the fact that the WH "petition" process is simply for show, the Executive Branch has no business attempting to initiate an impeachment process, which is a power granted to the Legislative Branch. And given that three other justices supported the same result in the Voting Rights Act but didn't attend ALEC, any claim of a causal relationship seems unprovable.

Better that we spend our efforts at getting the law strengthened than expecting useless crusades that will never happen.
