So Harry Reid told the President to scrap a meeting with rethugs

The way I read this article is Obama was going to try and cut some kind of deal with the rethugs and Senator Reid talked him out of it to the point where he even told the President he wouldn't be there if he held this meeting. This in my opinion is why we are going through this bullshit with the rethugs. They know this President has no spine and all he thinks about is bipartisanship. What did Bohner say in the last debt ceiling I got 98 percent of what I wanted http://www.politico.com/story/2013/09/government-shutdown-harry-reid-democrats-strategy-97532.html?hp=t1_s

... it could have been way BEFORE the Senate voted on their bill.

I wouldn't give it much weight without more info.

Obama has been coming out for over a week now saying he will NOT negotiate and he will VETO any bill that defunds Obamacare.

I'll take President Obama's word over a vague Politico article any and every day
