2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumTed Cruz doesn’t want you to know who’s bankrolling his road to the White House
By now it seems pretty clear that Senator Ted Cruz has a plan to occupy the White House. But he doesnt want people to know too much about it.
And he definitely doesnt want you to know about the special interests that have already begun to bankroll his political ambitions.
Thats why the Texas senators latest crusade targets the Federal Communications Commission and its efforts to better identify the funders of political ads.
Cruz has placed a hold on the Senate confirmation of Tom Wheeler to head the agency, despite bipartisan agreement to vote on Wheeler without delay. Cruz wants assurances from Wheeler that the FCC wont follow the law and require disclosure of the real funders for dark-money political groups that clog the airwaves with negative and misleading ads.

(16,079 posts)So a sitting US Senator wants an agency to not apply a law that was passed by Congress? Cruz is acting more and more like the anointed one every day isn't he?

(24,411 posts)He is far worse than Romney. He's more radical and he's got so much that we can throw against him. Sure, the nutjob wing of the Republican party loves him. That's about 20 percent of the Republican party. Independents, reasonable Republicans and Democrats will be repelled by him.
Let the teafools celebrate that "their guy" is finally on the ticket. We can all stand back and watch Cruz lose in a landslide to any Democrat that we offer.
It will be fun.

(30,058 posts)This piece of crap is out to hurt the US as much as possible. If we do not vet him stopped we could be facing the most horrible time ever in the US. I am amazed of the dummies who contribute.

(23,759 posts)I honestly feel that when ever anybody votes, before they vote they should look at the Federal Election Commission financial disclosure reports and also their states' disclosure reports. For me that would be the Public Disclosure Commission of the State of Washington.

(15 posts)Ted Cruz appeals to the 18% of the republicans that are tea partiers. Even in a Republican primary he will not get the votes of the majority moderate republicans that voted for Romney in the last republican primary elections.
