“People become consumed with envy, however, when they think they can’t get rich,” Carlson opined.
Ahh, No. People worry they that can't educate their children, find adequate health care for themselves or their family, earn a living wage, find a affordable place to live, and cast a ballot in the next election.
Envious of the one percent. Make me retch, not rich.

The poor are not "consumed with envy" and it's not that they "think" they can't get rich. They KNOW it. Most of them don't even strive to get rich. They would be perfectly happy just to no longer be poor, whereas people like Carlson think "poverty" is a financial class of people who can't afford every Manhattan penthouse their heart desires.
