It's not a shoo-in for her by any stretch.

Sorry, Joe Biden must become VP for life, or until he is tired of doing it.
It is not a matter of who I might WANT to vote for.
It is not a matter of the lesser of two evils.
It is a matter of preventing a disaster of biblical proportions!

(904 posts)...the Repubs have the $$$ behind them, and lotsa Koch $$$ can serve as pig lipstick, as far as re-building these characters' public images.

(2,529 posts)If Hillary runs, the misogyny will go through the roof. They'll be draining more resources on damage control than on attack ads. It's going to get ugly if she runs; I mean really, really ugly. Their hatred of her is so visceral, I'm sure they won't be able contain it. The resulting blowback would doom their chances with women. They lost the female vote by a 12-point margin as it was in 2012. They can't afford to lose any more of it as they are losing more of the minority vote on top of it.
elzenmahn
(904 posts)...because we all remember too well of the racist attacks against Obama during and after the '08 and '12 campaigns, including today.

(1,077 posts)Senator Dole along with Senator McCain references need to be left out of any of his speeches. Both of these gentleman have endured for this country. More specifically, a relative of mine spent time with the good Senator in a military hospital recovering from wounds sustained in the European Theater, some years back. Yes, I have donated to the Davis campaign. And will donate to anyone running against cruz, primary or generals to see him lose.

(564 posts)Christie is polling lower than Jeb BUSH. Hahahahaha.
HeiressofBickworth
(2,682 posts)his eligibility to run for President should be confirmed. He was born in Canada and still has dual citizenship as far as I know. His father is Cuban (was he a US citizen when Teddie was born?). His mother's status is unknown -- she was American but did she live in Canada for fewer than 10 years in order to pass her US citizenship to her son? See: http://www.uscis.gov/us-citizenship/citizenship-through-parents
By focusing on him when his eligibility is in question, we don't spend the time on the wackadoodle policies of other Repubs like Rand Paul and Jeb Bush. So far, I view Cruz as a red herring.
So, in other words: SHOW US THE LONG FORM BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

(904 posts)...but they stick around because of the high level of ignorance and hate which still permeate much of the country, especially in those swaths of red states you see at presidential election time.

(904 posts)...and the Repubs have been succeeding at the state and local races for decades, which explains the gerrymandering.
BTW, did you see the recent story of the Koch's strategy to dominate local/state politics? There was a link on DU recently.

Meanwhile the locals have regulations and restrictions on every tiny detail, no real personal freedom..not even in your own home.- or pay the fines/lose your home.

(385 posts)cruz will do the best for the democrats. Hilary and Obama managed to dig some gaping holes in christies who would have been the toughest opponent. Can we play where the birth certificate game with brother cruz now or wait till later. I think wait till hes the final nominee..
