Nevada GOP Strips Opposition To Gay Marriage, Abortion From Platform

CAITLIN MACNEAL – APRIL 14, 2014, 11:17 AM EDT

The Nevada Republican party on Saturday voted to remove its opposition to gay marriage and its pro-life stance from the party platform, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

State party Chairman Michael McDonald told the Review-Journal that he was pleased with the outcome of the vote.

"I think it was about inclusion, not exclusion," he said about the platform. "This is where the party is going."

A party committee proposed a new party platform without a stance on the two social issues, after the Clark County, Nev. GOP voted to remove them earlier in April.

Nevada's apparently popular Republican Governor won't even attend the next state GOP convention because the Libertarian wing is currently in control of the "official" state party. There is a parallel Republican insiders group that currently has to go around the state party but still yields effective control of most things GOP in the state.

removing opposition to gay marriage and abortion from the Nevada Republican party platform will not matter and we all know that the GOP in this country is all about exclusion!
