(2,186 posts)No chance to succeed, just like Boner's lawsuit against Pres. Obama.

(23,292 posts)One game, I looked at the score and both teams had 666 pins. Someone said "play it in the lottery". I laughed nervously. No thanks. The next day, 666 was the 3-digit.

(26,731 posts)Since neither the House rules committee nor the President has the ability to impeach a member of the House (and 14A doesn't have anything to do with impeachment)... I would feel as though I looked pretty dense if I signed that.

(2,186 posts)MoveOn.Org is talking out their ass?
Usually they're pretty good, but it would seem this time...............................

(26,731 posts)This one... yeah... is nonsense.
They could start a petition asking the voters of his district to dump him. That would make more sense.

(26,731 posts)... but I should also encourage others to avoid it. Shouldn't I?
On edit... I see that you started a similar petition last year at the same site... then took it down (though you incorrectly assumed that it would take 2/3 of the House to do so). Why pump this one?

(39,451 posts)I agree 100%,
it will not "do any good other than to send a message"
And, IMO, the more signatures it gets, the stronger the message.

(14,672 posts)How do we impeach the supremes?
IronGate
(2,186 posts)which, as we all know, just ain't going to happen as long as the Repubs. are in control of the House.

(31,997 posts)House leadership does not play those games. Back benchers bring that type of stuff up to get publicity but no one in authority.

(4,835 posts)And so what if it doesn't make any difference (on him actually getting impeached.
Somebody took a poll and determined that Obama was the worst post WWII president. A fucking opinion poll - that's all this is - your opinion.
If it is your opinion that nobody gives two shits what Sarah Palin thinks about who should be impeached (the majority of Americans for instance) - well, WE think Boehner should be impeached.
Just sign it. What's it gonna hurt?

(45,984 posts)He may be removed from power at any time by a voter of the majority caucus, the same we he became Speaker in the first place.
He may also be removed from power either by elevating the opposition party to the majority, which really ought to happen because there isn't a Republican in either House of Congress who deserves re-election, or he may be denied re-election by the voters of his district.
