Support Pat Quinn in Illinois!

Billionaire Bruce Rauner is raking in millions for his campaign. Now, he's 14 points ahead of Quinn in Illinois' gubernatorial race!

I really don't want another Rick Snyder running our state into the ground, privatizing schools, and shutting off our water.

I need your help to reelected Pat Quinn this November. Senator Dick Durbin is polling well against Jim Oberweiss. We must make sure Pat Quinn polls just as well. GOTV, Illinois!

Isn't the legislature Republican-dominated? Why is Quinn being blamed for it? Liberal_Stalwart71 Jul 2014 #6
The legislature has been completely controlled by Democrats for about 20 years now. former9thward Jul 2014 #7

Mainly due to underfunded pensions. The legislature has not been able to pass a workable plan.

Quinn is being blamed because he is the top dog. And Quinn has only himself to blame anyway. He sponsored a measure back in the early 80s which cut the legislature by 2/3s. It has been a disaster because it concentrated power in the top leaders of the legislature while the rest of the members just sit there.

Maybe I was thinking of the Senate.

Thanks for the clarification.

Well, that's it, then. We lost IL. He was a weak leader and that's it.

Is the Democratic majority in the legislature in danger as well? A veto-proof majority should be maintained at least if there's a Republican governor.

There really is not enough Republicans in IL to take the legislature. It would take fairly big defections by Democratic voters.
