Vermin Supreme and Ed Cowan Edge up on Obama

http://www.newsyouneverheard.com

Dateline: New Hampshire, 1/11/12

Surprising Results from the New Hampshire Democratic Primary.

Two declared candidates came in second and third in the hotly contested New Hampshire primary race to see who will become President Obama's main challengers for the presidential nomination.

Ed Cowan, a relatively unknown force in Democratic politics came in second among declared candidates, racking up an impressive 936 votes in his challenge to incumbent Barack Obama. Nearing the magical 1000 vote threshold, he's getting attention from progressive pundits as a possible challenger at the Democratic Presidential Convention later this year.

Ed Cowan - Edging up on Obama

Running a close third, Vermin Supreme, accumulated 821 votes in the primary. A dark horse candidate, Supreme presents a somewhat unconventional alternative choice for dissatisfied Democratic voters, who supported him into a close third place. This three-way competition for the Democratic nomination promises to provide additional excitement for convention watchers as the primary season heats up.

A spokesperson close to the Obama campaign said, "President Obama is taking these challenging candidates seriously, following these results, and will propose a series of 345 debates prior to the Convention."

How the good voters could distinguish between the two remains a mystery to me, but the voters have spoken.
