Interesting Dem/Repub observation

Democrats have all the comedians on their side. Republicans just can't seem to make light of anything. It's all doom and gloom.

Republicans are masters at grabbing on to a fact or lie they like and forwarding it to everyone they know. At least from my perspective, I get more and scarier emails from my far right acquaintances than Dems or the non-political.

Dems: Comedy
Repubs: Fear

Agree?

Conservatives are more fearful of change, of people who are different, of ideas that are different. Fear easily becomes hate, which explains why so many conservatives are hateful and angry. And being hateful and angry does not lend itself to humor. Conservative "humor" tends to consist to a large extent in picking on people who are different, foreign, or weak in some way. That's not funny; it's just mean.

I think this mind-set is why you get the gloom and doom e-mails from your wingnut acquaintances. They're just scared all the time, of nearly everything. What a crappy way to live.

is that they not only want to NOT help people but many of them deliberately GO OUT OF THEIR WAY to cause other people they don't like to endure needless pain and suffering. That, and I don't get where they find all of the time and energy to expend on hating and making other people miserable. Most days, I'm lucky to go to work and take care of my kids and keep my sanity intact. I don't have time to notice who's in bed with whom or what women are doing with their uteruses but yet these people, who, by all appearances seem to have "normal lives", have all of this time and energy to go after LGBTs and women seeking to exercise their rights to their own reproductive systems. They can't seem to help themselves from wanting to nose around in everybody else's business. It's like it's their obsession to try to make everybody conform to their beliefs (or make them miserable if they don't). I just don't get it at all.

Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. We see it every day in the Republican Party, especially in the House of Representatives and Republican-dominated legislatures.

sarah palin is the ultimate in political comedy performance art, but she's hardly along.

everyone they get on air as an analyst, who can somehow be viewed as thoughtful and credible after hearing any issue and instantly concluding that the republican side is correct in 100% of all situations.

everyone they advance as a presidential candidate, and well, pretty much everyone they advance as a congressional or gubernatorial candidate as well. jokes pretty much every last one of them.

heck, even their platform and their supreme court decisions are jokes.

it's enough to make you laugh, if you can hold back the tears....

Victoria Jackson seems to be a lunatic. I loved her in UHF but she has clearly gone off the deep end, mentally, in recent years.

has become just a Marketing Strategy with top notch advertising and promotional material. Noticed through the decades how they are able to morph as to the changing landscape, use of focus groups and very smart Political and Media Consultants. We in the Democratic Party are late to the scene,we have for the most part practiced one on one communications and really late to the information age. Our Media People seem to be running around with bags on their heads or are they spending all their time in some Juice Joint. Following Al Fromm for two elections cycles has not helped our party.

Rush Limbaugh is hilarious. His michael j fox flails his arms because of Parkinson's joke is a classic. Sean Hannity is a riot too. Did you hear the one about the women that didn't know they were pregnant but he did cause he has x-Ray vision? God that's funny. But seriously they do think they're funny. Which makes me laugh.
