Does Van Hollen's candidacy for the 2016 MD US Senate stop other top tier Democratic candidates from

entering?
Van Hollen is the front runner due to his fundraising ability and his progressive voting record. John Sarbanes is more likely to run in 2018 when MD other US Senate Ben Cardin retires.(Ben Cardin's US Senate Seat was former held by John's father). John Delaney is likely to run for Governor in 2018.

Mikulski was running against MD-8cd Michael Barnes and MD Governor Harold Hughes.
A Democratic Primary between Van Hollen,John Sarbanes, and Edwards- Edwards wins due to her support of the black and white liberal support from PG County and Baltimore City. Van Hollen and Sarbanes are the safe choices.

I am almost always up for a spirited primary debate. It helps get people involved. As Democrat and a democrat, I support getting more of the electorate involved and active.
