Romney discloses sale of stocks in dozens of companies over past year

Romney discloses sale of stocks in dozens of companies over past year

By Dan Eggen and and Tom Hamburger, Published: June 1

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Friday disclosed selling his stakes in dozens of companies over the past year, including investments in several overseas companies that might have undermined his increasingly tough campaign vows to create American jobs and crack down on foreign competitors.

In Ohio and other battleground states, Romney is making an aggressive appeal to working-class voters by promising to punish China for alleged currency manipulation and violations of intellectual property protections and other laws. Criticism of President Obama’s handling of trade issues also is part of Romney’s offensive.

The new disclosure report shows that Romney has sold all of his private, independently owned stock in foreign companies. But he still has a stake in foreign companies through investments in Bain Capital, the private equity firm he founded in Boston in 1984. Citing Bain confidentiality requirements, Romney has declined to disclose the nature of those investments.

The sales included shares in Chinese real estate and educational firms and in Wal-Mart de Mexico, which has come under scrutiny amid bribery allegations. Romney also sold stock in dozens of name-brand U.S. firms, including McDonald’s, Google, Apple and JPMorgan Chase, the records show.

1. Romney: I love China

I love the hymns of China, sing with me...

Their trees are the right height but most of all, I love their pro-business attitude...

I got the chance after I lost to John McCain last time, to go over to -- that was the good part of losing -- I got to go to the Olympic Games in China. It's pretty impressive over there how quickly they can build things, how productive they are as a society. You should see their airport compared to our airports, their highways, their train systems. They're moving quickly in part because the regulators see their job as encouraging private people. It's amazing. The head of Coca-Cola said the business environment is friendlier in China than in America. And that's because of the regulators. That's because of government.

7. why did Romney discloses sale of stocks in dozens of companies over past year

To start, here is a link to this news items from the WashingtonPost:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/romney-discloses-sale-of-stocks-in-dozens-of-companies-over-past-year/2012/06/01/gJQA1wY37U_story.html

Now, why would Willard disclose the news about him, selling stock which included shares in Chinese real estate(!?) and educational firms(!?) and in Wal-Mart de Mexico(!?), which has come under scrutiny amid bribery allegations. WHY? The answer is clear-he's running for President of the United States- and don't want us (the American (did I spell it right) Citizens) to know just how un-American he really is. That he has no confidence in the same American Banking system that did collapse the American economy,(some say nearly collapsed-whereas I say did collapse this economy), that's why he had Swiss Bank Accounts:
http://www.dailyfinance.com/2012/04/11/mitt-romney-swiss-bank-accounts/
and money stashed away in the Cayman Island like any other Criminal Organization would. In other words, he really don't believe in America, nor what this country stands for. Do you know how hard it is to invest in Chinese real estate if you are not Chinese? So that means he passed, that is... looking Chinese... to be able to invest in Chinese real estate.
This is your classic CYA, here is the Repuggish Candidate for President doing what any good old boy would do, clean up his act and erase(I mean etch a sketch), those things that may come under scrutiny in the near future. So, by bringing these issues up now will in time make them a non-issue with no further discussion about it, please!!

I got him to change what he says at the end of his show. He used to say, "Stay tuned for Chris Jansing next and don't miss Andrea Mitchell at 1 o'clock." I asked him why he mentions Mitchell's show at 1 but skips over the 11am and 12pm shows. He said it's "a Washington thing. Andrea's show is out of DC like mine." I told him that nobody knows that and it seems wrong to skip over the other shows, and he agreed and now he just mentions Jansing's show. And he told me it was due to my emails.

p.s. You're welcome.
