Check this out-- electoral forecasters say Obama is ahead

=snip=

The New York Times sees Mr. Obama with the slimmest edge, a mere 11 electoral votes. Pollster, on the other hand, has Mr. Obama with 270 electoral votes, a 79-vote advantage over Mr. Romney and already enough for a second term.

The election is months from now. No poll taken now should be granted any serious meaning.

Of course Obama is ahead. Romney has done nothing but make a fool of himself. Obama should be ahead by 80-20. He isn't.

When the rest of the $billion-plus starts to buy attack ads running 24/7 plus Fox Noise running free 24/7 anti-Obama commercials, if the polls STILL have Obama ahead, THEN I'll be relieved.

Besides, don't forget that since 2000, winning the election isn't enough. Al Gore won the 2000 election. John Kerry won the 2004 election. The loser (in more ways than one) still took office both times. Only if we win DECISIVELY does our guy take office. Otherwise, the dice land in Scalia's lap again. Scalia does not play unless he can use loaded dice, and it's his casino.

I know-- it's ages until the election but I'm glad we now have a place to go to check out the latest polls-- perhaps on a daily basis. I, too, am very, very guarded about this. Had 2000/2004 not happened the way it did, I'd feel completely differently. It's tough when your competition are a group of crazed extremists who would do anything (?) to put that moron Nitt in office. And who seem to break the law with impunity.

But I know we cannot EVER be complacent about this-- who knows what the neocons have up their sleeve? I shudder to think

I'm really tired of David Axelrod and his inability to come up with anything but a safe strategy to get his boss reelected. I would really like to see James Carvelle as the head of the campaign. Its time to get a straight talker with no apologies some air time to push a progressive agenda and call out the some Republicans.

I wish I was the one running the show...I'd call Raw Money a liar everyday several times a day..and do it without any shame...and if someone (i.e the media, Raw Money's idiocy of a campaign, or another politician) has something to say about it, it would be a great big F.U. both middle fingers a'blazin

David Axelrod doesn't speak for me, much to caught up in the blame game and his style lacks any passion. Give me Bernie Sanders or Carvelle any day. Sharod Brown sounds good most of the time. Obama by trying to be so measured has made me pretty indifferent to the party. I look at Obama as manager lacking vision. I'm sure the day to day business at the White House doesn't allow much room for Obama to put together a campaign (one of ideas based on ideals) that's why I blame Mr Lackluster Axlerod. It might cost the Dems the election to campaign like they're doin' now.
