His dad ran for President. Isn't this what the birthers have ranted about with Obama?

And yes, he told the NALEO that his grandfather moved to Mexico and his father was born there. Technically his father had dual citizenship.

Attached it the wikipedia link which explains this. By the way Romney left out how his grandfather moved there to have 4 wives.

George Romney was born to American parents living in the Mormon colonies in Mexico; events during the Mexican Revolution forced his family to flee back to the United States when he was a child.

And it stated that George (Mitt's dad) and several other siblings were born in Mexico.

It doesn't matter that they were living in a Mormon compound - it was still Mexico.

hence they're entitled to U.S. citizenship, maybe dual.

A child is automatically granted citizenship in the following cases:

1.Both parents were U.S. citizens at the time of the child's birth
2.The parents are married
3.At least one parent lived in the United States prior to the child's birth. INA 301(c) and INA 301(a)(3) state, "and one of whom has had a residence."
The FAM (Foreign Affairs Manual) states "no amount of time specified."

A person's record of birth abroad, if registered with a U.S. consulate or embassy, is proof of citizenship. They may also apply for a passport or a Certificate of Citizenship to have their citizenship recognized.

[edit] Birth abroad to one United States citizenA person born on or after November 14, 1986, is a U.S. citizen if all of the following are true (different rules apply if child was born out-of-wedlock):[8]

1.The person's parents were married at time of birth
2.One of the person's parents was a U.S. citizen when the person in question was born
3.The citizen parent lived at least five years in the United States before the child's birth
4.A minimum of two of these five years in the United States were after the citizen parent's 14th birthday.

Born: George Wilcken Romney
Date: July 8, 1907
Place: Colonia Dublán, Galeana, Chihuahua, Mexico

Anyway, I'm sure that Orly Taitz and all the crazy birthers are not going to say a peep about Mitt's father being born in Mexico - they are too busy bashing Obama.
