Imagine a 'President Bernie Sanders'

(CNN) - America is suddenly feeling "the Bern" -- the political momentum that seems to be lifting Bernie Sanders, who is drawing huge crowds wherever he goes, including roughly 28,000 fans in Portland and over 17,500 in Los Angeles. Celebrities such as Sarah Silverman and Mark Ruffalo are singing his praises, and California rapper "Lil B The Based God" this week pulled away from Hillary Clinton and is endorsing Sanders.
---
I've lived in Vermont for nearly four decades, and I've watched Bernie (everyone here calls him Bernie) at work, listening to him carefully since he first won the mayor's job in Burlington in 1981. I've read his position papers, listened to many of his speeches and attended his town hall-type forums, even talked to him personally about the issues that concern him. Most Vermonters know him well, and we have a pretty good idea about what he might attempt to do in the Oval Office.

1. You can feel the bern.

Without a Senate and House majority, he goes no where.

This coming election year should be great for the congress to go Democratic.

Good news if we elect a Bernie or Hillary

8. Actually, Bernie himself has addressed that:

When asked what differentiates him from Hillary Clinton and other candidates:

"It's not only that I think I have the most progressive agenda which says the wealthy are going to have to start paying their fair share of taxes, that says we're going to have to raise the minimum wage to 15 bucks an hour, that says we have to have a major federal jobs program rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure," he said. "But in addition to all of that, what I believe is that no President can do it alone. We need a political revolution. We need millions of people coming together to take on the corporate interests and the billionaire class who have so much power today. It's not just Bernie Sanders, it's a movement and I think that differentiates me very strongly from other candidates."

16. Actually...

Bernie Sanders activates the base a bit more effectively and will create greater enthusiasm down-ticket which will have a better chance of getting more democrats elected in the house and senate.

5. I'm so pumped right now

Leading in NH this early is huge. The media can't ignore him for much longer, and once more people start paying attention, combined with the debates...President Bernie Sanders is almost a reality. Still a long way to go, but the tides are turning.

7. Good old bernie

However I fear he is not ruthless, opinionated or morally corrupt enough to survive the sewer which is Washington. Will certainly vote for him if only to have an untrained and sincere person in the white house. Good luck Bernie

10. It is not that he is "untrained" - it is that he has not been purchased.

Bernie has been in Congress for a while. The opposition tries to tell us that, evidently, Bernie spent that whole time out in his back yard or something. Just another meme.
The other funny thing is that Obama had very little Congressional or DC experience. At the time, when it suited the big money, that was touted a a reason for "hope and change". Don't listen to the memes, just ask yourself who benefits by lying.

14. Bernie's just been putzing with organic vegetables and Ben & Jerry

in weeny, rural librul Vermont for 40 years. What does he know about minorities and big cities like NY, DC and Chicago? Oh, wait a minute...The RW Infotainment circus is really trying but failing, it's uuge as Bernie says.

18. bernie doesnt need to know

about minorities or big cities - he needs to know about America as a whole! He has been around long enough to know that American politics is putrid and is governed by money and self interest.

11. I can hardly wait to start saying President Bernie Sanders

I like the guy as if he was my brother.
He says what I want to hear and the good part is he isn't just saying them to get elected. He truly lives his words.
