2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe Secret of Bernie Sanders' Success
I think Bernie Sanders is making all the other candidates of both parties look quite anemic. And, it is all from telling the truth about the things that matter to the American public. He does not have to go negative toward his opponents. By taking money from the billionaires they are negating themselves in the eyes of the American people, as beholden to the billionaire class.
I am re-posting this here, pending my appeal of it being locked out of "General Discussion." Bernie is currently engaged in the general campaign where he is walking away with it, to the astonishment of most professional politicians and political pundits.

(14,255 posts)does not need to bother having rallies and such. Too chancy, at this point, that attendance may be anemic, that demonstrations may occur, things like that. Time will tell.
Edited to add - I think there is also the assumption that since she can outspend him, why not wait around until she wins the nomination, and then just scoop up all of Bernie's enthusiastic support for herself? My prediction is the days of political games may be drawing to a close, and the young people who are only interested in what Bernie says will not be embracing anyone else. They seems to see the old guard as not working for them anyway.

(305 posts)I am trying to make the same point the poster of the thread http://www.democraticunderground.com/10027068219 is making: Now, even the "conservative billionaires" are talking like Bernie Sanders. Why, because unlike all the other candidates, Bernie is talking about what is relevant at this time to all the American people!
I am not promoting Sanders in the Democratic primary. He is. The remarkable reality is that he is also now successfully engaged in the 2016 general election Presidential campaign, in which he is dwarfing all the Republican candidates!

Honesty to start. I could go on but I think everyone has a wish for something they could see in our political system but no longer can find it.
People are tired of the glossy, over managed candidates I think.

Hillary sure as Hell cannot say that. And of course none of the republicans can say that, you could maybe make a case fro Trump but he's a loon.
Beyond that maybe it's time to move on from the Bushes and Clintons, we fought a war to get away from Monarchies.
