Ken Aden drops out of race (Arkansas)

Ken Aden, a Democratic candidate for Arkansas' 3rd Congressional District, has withdrawn from the race, according to his website.

Aden had come under fire after the military said his claims of a Special Forces background were false.

"Unfortunately, the ongoing saga related to my military records has created a tremendous distraction for our campaign, and I did not want this to have adverse consequences for Democrats across the district or anywhere else in the state," Aden said in a statement on his website.

Martin said Aden's decision means the Democratic Party will have no contender for the remainder of the congressional race against Womack.

a ride paid for by whatever group of people was responsible for vetting Mr. "I'm a Green Beret" before he actually made it to the race.

Too bad they likely can't sue Aden for the money that was wasted in the attempt.
