A thread urging ALL of our Democratic candidates to get fully behind "Campaign Zero"!

I see no issue of more pressing importance than this. Though complex, improving the problems of poverty and racism SHOULD start by triaging the most dire, the most dangerous, the most painful problems first. As such, nothing could be more important than making a SEA CHANGE in the way people of color (yes and everyone else too) are treated by the police.

http://www.joincampaignzero.org

Please, everyone, urge your candidates whoever they may be to FULLY support this grass-roots initiative and DEMAND the end to police violence.

8. I could only offer my opinion. Are you interested in that? Here goes.

My guess is that it is based on the idea that even ONE death by police brutality is something that should not be accepted as "unavoidable" or treated matter-of-factly.

We, as a society, need to completely re-evaluate what is happening and START with the premise that there should be ZERO deaths from police brutality.

Thus... Project Zero.

My opinion/guess.

eliminating deaths of innocent civilians, mostly poor and/or POC, at the hands of an out of control, poorly thought out, policing/prison industry. The connection with Black Lives Matter and other movements for social progress gave me the hint.

I'm kind of disappointed.

I thought they cared about this issue. What happened?

I think our candidates are mostly on board with these. I hope they also understand the importance of addressing the excessive and unfair use of incarceration, the criminalization of drugs, the many cruelties that occur in our jails and prisons, youth unemployment, and inequality in educational and economic opportunities.

IT DEEPLY.

(I apologize for the yelling.)

There are specific items on the Federal, State, and Local levels that people can organize around and start making changes in their communities.

The design of the site is fantastic and navigating is a breeze.

Incredibly important.

Let's all visit the site.

Let's all read and study the issues and detailed policy proposals there.

Let's all share the site and pledge support to this incredibly important movement.

And let all our representatives and candidates know that we fully support it and will vote only for people who fully support it.

Thanks Bonobo. Have a great evening.

Which disproportionally kills black people as much as rogue cops.
