Oops! There goes another piece of Greenland!

No ifs, ands or buts, the world is melting and we are on our own. Jesus ain't coming back to rescue those who burned down the house he built for them and offer a brand new one next door in heaven. He's not stupid. So, Mr. Romney, you can't buy your way out of this one, and your supporters can't shoot their way out. Mars is not going to be habitable for decades at the earliest. Meanwhile, water wars, biblical-scale famine and pestilence loom over the entire planet. Climate evacuees are already on the move. They could grow to hundreds of millions, perhaps billions. If that still doesn't catch your attention, then just remember the first shall become last.

and at some point if enough of them break off, the land based ice will start sliding faster into the ocean which then could raise sealevels dramatically. Not all scientists agree with that scenario but it sure seems possible to me.

About 4-5 years ago, I had this nightmare where my wife and I had just gotten to work together and went into the breakroom to eat our breakfast. Moments later, a special report came on over the tv saying that a mass of several hundred or maybe even thousand square miles of ice had fallen off of Antarctica, and the entire globe was about to get hit with a tsunami.

I'll never forget that nightmare, and it saddens me that it stands a chance of coming true.
