(33,497 posts)for instance, here is an article from the Hill earlier this month regarding Obama opening a 'five-point' lead (another term for five-percent lead):
President Obama has opened a 5-point lead over presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney, his largest advantage in the Gallup daily tracking poll since April.

(9,580 posts)Just thought that would be a different calculation. For example, if the poll were 35 vs 65, and there was an 11% increase, wouldn't that calculate to a change to 38.85 (or 72.15 on the high end). Whereas 11 points would be 46 or 76? Am I just dense? Thanks for your patience! Stats aren't my strong suit, obviously.
