Guess Which Group Of Americans Hates Obama The Most

"SNIP...................................

According to Ronald Brownstein at The National Journal, the answer is this:

Many [working-class whites] are culturally-conservative; more are deeply skeptical of government (including [Obama's] health care plan); and most are struggling in the sustained economic downturn. Polls also consistently show many working-class whites are deeply uneasy about the propulsive racial and ethnic changes that Obama uniquely embodies.

Given the importance of working-class votes in the key swing states for the November election, you might think that this record-low support would doom Obama's chances. Surprisingly, however, Obama's doing better among this voter group in the swing states than he is nationally.

Here's Brownstein again:

Such a poor performance among working-class whites would enormously complicate Obama's hopes in older Rust Belt states where they predominate, including Ohio, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin (and to a slightly lesser extent Pennsylvania). But in several of those states, recent polls (like Quinnipiac's most recent Ohio and Pennsylvania surveys) show Obama running slightly better with non-college whites than he's run nationally, which has allowed him to maintain a lead.

he's spending more time and money to get out his message there?

He can't afford to pay for all the commercials, etc., everywhere else.

Democratic pundits and rank in file continue to berate the president, accusing him of not being out there and talking to the American people. It gets me very angry because the Corporate Media simply refuses to show Obama nearly having a conniption, he's so fired up in these meetings. As for Biden? Poor guy will have a heart attack due to the amount of passion he puts into these campaign stops. And this has been happening since at these the health care debacle where Obama, in particular, would go to small towns and rural communities, especially, to talk about his health care reform plan. But the media didn't pay attention; they were much more interested in pushing the Teabagger/Republican memes and outright LIES than they were at educating the American public.

I wish that the Democratic Party, its voters, and pundits would stop blaming the president because I see him and Biden working very hard to educate the American people, regardless of who they are voting for.

This, for me, is the most frustrating thing about our side.

ETA: The latest media obsession is complaining that Obama is spending more money. Well, that's simply because, as you say, he'll be outspent. So he has to expend every resource available to travel and get the message out to voters. I'll be working in Virginia again this weekend, going door to door and talking to voters. I had great fun doing this two weeks ago. They have the money on their side; we have more people on the ground!

than most people know. But I think it's starting to pay off. And I'm very happy with the "negative campaigning" that's been happening about Mitt and Bain. I think lifting the cover on that stinking business is really starting to help. People are finally beginning to see that the Repubs are not on their side.

obstruction. During canvassing, I've attempted to explain this to people on the street, but as they say--when you're explaining, you're LOSING!! I've been able to reach some people, but the Republican LIES and 50 years+ of anti-government propaganda has been effective. I even hear some Democrats tout the virtues of private business over government. We have to work a little harder to explain to people that government DOES do good things and can be effective.

That is why Romney is running those deceptive "We Built This" ads because he and the Republicans know full well that their anti-government meme works with a large segment of voters. But this failed philosophy is all they have, and they are banking of the fact that most Americans will believe the lies and are influenced by these talking points. It's difficult to get Americans--even Democrats themselves--to believe that government does good and is necessary. We got some cowardly Democrats running for office, afraid to tout the virtues of government; afraid to argue for increasing taxes on the wealthiest Americans. Somehow we have lost this message, as Tom Frank would argue. We need to work harder to bring that message back, and I often see the president and vice president out there alone with little Democratic Party help. Sure, the leadership is out there but is often drowned out by the Corporate Media, and I understand that. Our work will have to be on the ground, as a result.

A lot of those Rust Belt, working-class white people are employed by the auto industry. I think at least some of them are recognizing that they only reason they still have a job and a paycheck is because of this man.

Making a lot of noise here in South east Michigan.
Brought to my attention by a candidate running to take McCotters Rep seat.
Calls himself a "LaRoush Democrat".
