he wins. There are many things he will leave behind to bookmark his candidacy. Not the least of these is that remarkable speech he gave at Liberty University. The words in that speech will forever endure as a model We the People should practice to give us impetus to stand with those of opposing religious viewpoints on issues that are important for the common good.
Put for instance our personal religious convictions aside to join in the We the People church for reformation of how this Country treats its poor, its homeless, its sick, its hungry, its education for the younger people coming up behind us, our moral standards as a Country, our ethical obligations to preserve our objections to torture, our dedication to repairing climate damage to the extent we can and to simultaneously cut the harm we continue to do for the benefit of not only humans but animals, plant life, oceans and the air we breathe as well.
Embrace our immigrants. As Sanders said (loosely paraphrasing) if your parents were not Native Americans, you too were born of immigrants.
Support our same-sex community since our Declaration of Independence specifically declared the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as guarantees Americans would naturally have bestowed upon them. We cannot surrender these rights, and no one can take them away. These rights are "inalienable" for all of us.
Stand up and speak out when we see people being discriminated against for the color of their skin. Just as the passengers took down that plane on 9/11 in Pennsylvania when terrorists sought to commandeer it to crash into the Capitol, fight the civil terrorism that exists in this Country against people of color who too have inalienable rights.
Help the poor, feed the hungry and feel happy that you have the capacity to help one less fortunate.
We have moral obligations that We the People should concentrate on meeting as opposed to allowing ourselves to be chronically distracted by provocative crude remarks made by political players seeking to keep us from doing that which must be done to take back our Country from their wealthy sponsors.
Sanders is already a winner, but of course we cannot stop now in doing all that we can do to make sure he makes it all the way home to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. From there, he will make all of us winners indeed -- winners in the ways that truly matter.
Only when we can reestablish our pride in our Country and how it treats We the People can we regain not only our own self-respect but the respect of the rest of the world as well.

(9,314 posts)and it is very liberating! I have been holding a lot in these last few months, not wanting to be drawn into the disagreements. There comes a time however when we all must step out and speak about who we are supporting and why we are supporting them. I have now done that, and I thank you for your applause, CaliforniaPeggy!

and as much as I like Joe Biden, he has publicly stated he is no populist. More than ever, this election is an issues election for me, not a personality contest. I have at times respected Hillary as well. I really respect Martin O'Malley (he was my Governor for 8 years, and I was proud of the things the State of Maryland accomplished under his leadership). Chafee is someone I respected as a Republican because he did occasionally vote with the Dems on important issues that truly mattered; now that he is a Democrat, he probably is in the party where he should have always been (historically, his family has been Republican). Webb is okay, more of a Third Way type politician, however. It is a good thing there is no one running as a Democrat who is a total embarrassment as are some Republicans.

(55,981 posts)are too. She is wealthy and a member of the 1% and her friends are also. She gets money directly to her personal bank account from the wealthy. She pretends to feel for the 99% but there is nothing to show that she does. She sent thousands of our children to Iraq to die or get wounded and she has never apologized for her mistake. She represents all that is wrong with our political system. It's a morality issue. Do you want to see our children in poverty? 22% currently and she has not said a word.

(9,314 posts)I think you might have missed the words "at times." The issues you mention are not included in those times. One of those times I did respect her was during the impeachment saga when she went on cable and gave the Republicans a verbal black eye. She does know how to throw a punch.
But as I said above, this is an issues only election for me, and that is why I am supporting Bernie.
Peace.

(1,169 posts)And has never apologized for his mistake. Now he drives around with a Black lives matter sticker on his bernmobile as if his crime bill vote and gun votes haven't destroyed thousands of black lives. And this is his surrogate?: http://www.theroot.com/articles/culture/2013/08/tavis_smiley_and_cornel_west_time_to_sit_down.html

(55,981 posts)deaths of innocent children? Maybe as many as 200,000. That war made millions for her friends while our troops got killed or wounded. She has admitted it was a mistake but never apologized to those harmed.
It's immoral to let 22% of American children live in poverty. Clinton doesn't seem to be worried as long as Goldman-Sachs makes a profit. It's about morality. Tell me she wants to fix the wealth inequality.

(9,314 posts)He gives specific answers to questions he is asked, and he maintains a continuity in outlining the egregious problems we as a society face and suggests ways these problems can be addressed. In the political world, he is a one of a kind.
Thanks for posting on my thread.

if he loses primary he and us all lose
The centrists/corporatists all win.the pro-trade deals,pro-wall street pro-war pro-surveillance pro-Police militarization crowd wins. The Democratic party will be pulled further to right. The social safety net will be further endanger by the comprise with republicans crowd.
The convention would begun the push to right and if she were to win over whoever wins the GOP clown car she would move further right. That's the corporate-Centrist playbook
To win Bernie has to win nomination otherwise we all lose.

(9,314 posts)I am just trying to compliment the man on all he has done thus far. I hope to keep writing positive threads about him to convince others he is the right person for this time and I hope to bring along some undecideds to Feel the Bern.
Peace, and thanks for posting on my thread.
