For the first time more New Yorkers view Hillary unfavourably than favourably

For the first time in Hillary Clinton’s political career, more voters in her adopted home state of New York view her unfavorably than favorably, according to a Siena College poll published Monday.

In the overwhelmingly Democratic state, 51% of the registered voters polled said they held an unfavorable view of the Democratic presidential front-runner, while 46% said they held a positive view of her. In a Siena poll released in July, Mrs. Clinton’s favorable rating was 56% and her unfavorable rating was 40%.

Mrs. Clinton has tight New York ties: She represented the state for two terms as a U.S. senator, has a house in a suburb of New York City and set up her presidential campaign headquarters in Brooklyn. But she has faced a summer of probes and tough headlines about her use of a personal email server while she was secretary of state, and has suffered in recent weeks in national polls of Democratic primary voters.

Among New York Democrats, however, Mrs. Clinton’s numbers are significantly better. She is viewed favorably by 70% of voters from her own political party, the poll found, and unfavorably by 27% of them.

One of the most serious potential hurdles to Mrs. Clinton securing the Democratic nomination, though, is the increasingly likely candidacy of Vice President Joe Biden, and the poll found that a majority – 53% — of New York Democratic primary voters want Mr. Biden to run. Mr. Biden gets a higher favorable rating in the state than Mrs. Clinton, with 54% of all poll respondents saying they view him favorably.

Still, Democratic primary voters stuck with Mrs. Clinton in a potential matchup against Mr. Biden and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, with 45% opting for Mrs. Clinton, 24% for Mr. Biden and 23% for Mr. Sanders.

This mirrors virtually every other poll on Hillary's favorable ratings. There is an undeniable and strong trend here. The more Hillary campaigns, the higher her unfavorables. This is significant when it comes to the general election.

95% of corporate media?

I guess you'd have an idea IF it happened to you, but, it never will, will it?

As a Sanders supporter I fully expect that if he keeps showing strength and it looks like he will be the nominee then the GOP lie machine and their poodle press will find a way to do the same to him.

If you don't constantly fight against the RW lie machine, then you are only helping to make them stronger.

Hardly an "overwhelmingly Democratic state". We also had Gov Pataki (R) and Giuliani (R-wingnut). Only the city/5 boros are Democratic. Go upstate and its wingnut territory. And within the MOE.

that the Republicans are right…Clinton emails and Benghazi were great crimes committed against this nation, and the tens of millions of taxpayer dollars the GOP has been spending to prove it has been a blessing for this nation. We should all thank them for their service to truth and justice.

I think ALL Democrats should reward the Republicans for succeeding with their narratives - it's so much easier to let the corpmedia shape what the public believes because we know they have the Democratic party's best interests at heart.

And I say that as someone who will cast a vote for Sanders in the primary. I don't jump up and down with glee any time the GOP tactic of controlling the narrative succeeds by being furthered 24/7 by the corporate media. Shame on those who claim to be democrats and honest citizens while they applaud the success of the RW lie machine.

There's plenty to not like Hillary about, but there are a lot of people who seem to be reaping ill gotten gains.

None of these negatives have to do with Goldman Sachs or the other things anti-Hillary people on the left talk about. They have everything to do with right wing bullshit.
