Fortune: Hillary Clinton's reversal on TPP: Bernie Sanders is fulfilling his purpose

Fortune: Hillary Clinton's reversal on TPP: Bernie Sanders is fulfilling his purpose

Here’s the rub on Clinton’s stance, though — it stands in direct opposition to what she said during negotiations while she was President Obama’s Secretary of State. She called it the “gold standard in trade agreements.” Clinton even wrote in her memoir Hard Choices that the agreement “would link markets throughout Asia and the Americas, lowering trade barriers while raising standards on labor, the environment, and intellectual property.”

So why, now is Clinton coming out against an agreement that she championed as Secretary of State? Because capturing the Democratic nomination hasn’t been as easy as she thought it would be. And that’s because Bernie Sanders is doing an admirable job of activating the party’s progressive wing to get out and announce their displeasure with Clinton’s more moderate and pro-business policies.

Mr. Sanders is running to become the next president, not as a protest candidate. However, I do agree that if Mr. Sanders had not been in the race, Mrs. Clinton would not have altered her position.

And Hillary is certainly quite transparent in her flip flops.

wrong on his purpose. He always said he would only get in if he thought he could win. He isn't there to help the party or to help hillary move to the left. He's in it to win. but that's the kind of rhetoric I expect to hear from establishment types. Everyone exists to service them in someway. There are only two entities in the world themselves and their tools.

If she's worried about Americans losing their jobs through JUST DISCOVERING that might happen with the TPP, then I wonder if she'll soon JUST DISCOVER that Americans lose jobs with H-1B program as well.
