(10,345 posts)Bernie's message is literally the last thing people get to hear before they tune away from the debate and the commercials. That is SUCH a good advantage for him.

We must stay united.

O'Malley, keep it clean against my man Bernie from now on, you've redeemed yourself to me tonight.
O'Malley's exit speech was excellent.

(20,190 posts)I like his ideas and he's young, which I think is important. He certainly wouldn't be a fiasco for the ticket like Sarah Palin was for McCain. ButvI would prefer someone who wasn't another East Coaster, and it would be great if it wasn't another white guy. But you can't have everything!

(12,121 posts)There's quite a bit of pushing of the She's Not Sincere meme. She changes positions with the polls. So many people are jumping on to that.
The emails were investigated. Other officials had done the same at the time she was Secretary of State. Done and answered. So they need more smears because gosh, we don't want a coronation.
But come on fellas!
She is sincere about her political convictions and aspirations. She speaks with passion. She's been working on her issues for years.
I think the main corporate media are doing their best to criticize her without a comparable critique of the cockamamie Republicans. And not just the Trump. They let the GOP get away with so many lies and failures in their careers and policies. But oh gee, Hillary changes her mind...
I guess if the media really get into the issues and which candidate is really going to transform our system, they'd have to discuss the disastrous plans of the GOP to make our income inequality much worse and send our seniors back into greater poverty and ignore millions suffering in favor of their billionaire buddies who say that this time, after 40 years of waiting, goodies really are going to trickle down from the Top One Percent.

(4,973 posts)I still wonder how much working across the isle Hillary will be willing to do. I will vote for her if she wins the primary, and I respected her positions in the 1990's, but she's a pretty wealthy person now and has been entrenched in this system her husband helped create "working across the isle". That is what I fear will keep changing her mind and shifting her to the right. That's why I can't vote for her in the primary. If she wins the GE, I can only hope she sticks to a few of her original convictions all the while being thankful we don't have Trump completing our march to Idiocracy.
Separation
(1,975 posts)But not likely, that somebody would address the fact, that in the first hour of this debate. More policy and real substance have been covered than all of the Republican debates so far. Republican debate goes like this, " oooo I heard so and so said this about you." And then "we'll so and so should stop being a poopey head."
Gah it makes me sick!

.to see who "won" in one of of those informal opinion surveys. Bernie did by a huge margin. 74% to 24% at the point I voted.
Then the same thing happened on TIME, SLATE, and other sites, too many to remember. I just kept clicking through them after typing into google "Who won the democratic debates?" It was always Bernie by double digits.
Try it yourself.
