Oh Joe, you were the candidate we needed, but not the one we deserved. I was holding out hope that you would swoop in and save the day.
Say it ain't so.

(47,420 posts)I hadn't expected him to run until this past month or so. I was just getting used to the idea and was getting excited. This was quite a letdown. At least the non-stop Biden Bashing will stop.

(30,481 posts)I have had candidates I supported lose the primary before. It hurts. I know he didn't lose the primary here, but I assume it is probably the same feeling for his supporters. It feels like opportunity gone and that a piece of your belief system has been dismissed. At least for me. Best wishes.

(6,930 posts)He let it go on too long however, and I think he made the right decision.
I might have voted for him, but that is not in the mix anymore.

(17,600 posts)But now, I agree it is too late.
When you are ready to look around, please take a good look at O'Malley, if you haven't already. He isn't exactly a Joe Biden but I think he does have some traits that contrast positively with the other candidates.
(That said, I am firmly in the "undecided" camp. All of them have things I agree with and things I disagree with. I have to figure out which combination of "not quite perfect" I prefer. But I think O'Malley should be much more in the conversation due to some of the interesting things he accomplished in Maryland. Or in other words, I want a real choice, dammit! )

(14,915 posts)He was my original stalking horse, but I was surprised that he couldn't make more of a dent in Iowa polling. I'll back him in the primary, probably, now that Joe is out, but honestly, this is an uninspiring group of candidates for me.

(337 posts)He got to enjoy the spotlight, and highlights of a campaign, without officially running.
Sad day but look on the bright side, he doesn't have to go through the meat grinder after losing his son.

(337 posts)you guys have no soul. It's over, idiots.
is really an unpleasant place during the primaries. I generally avoid GDP like the plague. Now that Joe's not running, I can go back to that mode. There is rarely anything of relevance posted here, just bashing one another 24/7.
