2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumClinton---cunning baffling and powerful--Debate, Biden, Benghazi, Webb, Chafee
she is playing this run for President as if Vince Lombardi is coaching her ---the past few weeks are not happenstance ----strategic moves on her part are all orchestrated ----the rehearsals for both the debate and the Benghazi hearings have been going on since she left SOS ----the timing of the Biden announcement just before the Benghazi hearing is right out of the Clinton playbook and is part of the Obama agreement to help her in this run ----Webb's departure the day after makes exactly the kind of headlines she needs and the increase in donations was all structured and planned to make Gowdy and company look foolish --she is on a roll----I know it's early ---and she has tripped herself before ----but i really think this campaign has better polling and she is listening to her pollsters ---

(14,572 posts)And she did do well in the Benghazi 'hearings.'
She may trip up, though, by listening to her pollsters TOO much and then coming off as false or fake. She tends to have that problem with her public image while people who know her say she's warm and smart.
Since you've laid out the whole thing as you see it, I'll say this: There's billions and billions of dollars riding on this election. You think about the big bankers, the ones we never hear of, yet the ones who really call the shots - they are indifferent pretty much, who gets in, whether Dem or Repub. They have busted the unions, stolen the pensions and control the money supply. Bernie is the one they fear because he knows and more importantly has a long history of fighting their game. And he is calling us to political revolution. But it's a long game and they are patient.
If Bernie does win the general election and becomes President, the bankers will begin calling loans and constrict the money supply to throw the nation into a deep recession. Their thinking will be to make the people suffer while they whittle away at Sanders' popularity with their corporate owned media mouthpieces.
My point is we'll very much have to step up and put on massive pressure. Otherwise, as always we'll get nothing.

(55 posts)Doesn't cunning baffling and powefur refer to addiction?
"Alcoholism, drugs and eating disorders.
I am cunning, baffling and powerful. Thats me!
I've killed millions and enjoyed doing it.
I love to catch you by surprise.
I love pretending I'm your friend and lover.
I've given you comfort.
Wasn't I there when you were lonely?"

(7,759 posts)I want President who can go eye-ball to eye-ball with any world leader and any US pol. She shows me she can do it. It would be up to us to get her to do what we want...and we can because she listens.
We didn't exactly push Obama after being elected. We didn't do enough to get out there and get our families and friends to understand how important our state and local elections were to provide the support a President would need from the ground up. We still refuse to much effort into that.
If Hillary makes it to the WH that's how we can do our part...and make her understand our wants and needs. She is smart enough to know how it can be done. She is talking already about downstream elections and I bet she will make a huge push for this.
And it's not a "revolution." Just get out and damn vote!!
