This is why I vote for Bernie.
Because he's not business as usual.
Everyone else will continue the corporate agenda. More for themselves and less for everyone else.
Even Clinton.
Even Obama.
It's six of these or half a dozen of the other.
People say that they're different, yet we have corporate education run amok, we're talking about slashing Social Security and Medicare to prop up the wealthy, we're continuing wars for profit, our politicians say Wall St. can regulate itself, that unrestricted capitalism benefits society, that unfair and anti-union trade agreements will actually help us, that the wealthy create jobs, that 50% youth African American unemployment and 51% of all Americans now making less than 30k a year are acceptable outcomes of our economic policy, that minimum wage shouldn't be a living wage, that college education should not be free for all regardless of income or background, that fracking and off-shore drilling is ok in the name of money, and that MORE of this thinking will only lead to better results.
Call me stupid, idealistic, call me what you will. But, the game is rigged and I believe it's time we do something about it.
This is why I vote for Bernie Sanders.
At least then, even if all else fails, we did the right thing.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

(49,381 posts)a loss to the GOP in the GE would be a giant step backwards for America. One that will take decades to recover from.
With Hillary, are we are headed in the direction that will achieve most of Bernie's goals. I have no doubt Bernie will enthusiastically support Hillary when it is evident she has enough delegates for the nomination. He knows the importance of getting to work against the GOP machine as early as possible.

(5,066 posts)I won't be doing that this time as my oporion of Democratic leadership Is at an all time low.and since i hate republicans with
passion I have no choice but to stay home on election day if CLinton is nominee.
Obama,Reid,Pelosi,CLinton should all just switch over to republicans since they agree on
TPP
Cutting social safety net
increased defense spending
endless war In Middle east
or better yet stop pretending this is democracy and just hand over all power to corporations.
