1. Probably not.

Shouting "sexist" is the campaign's modus operandi.

It was eight years ago and nothing has changed.

They think that this tactic somehow puts opponents on the defensive and mutes criticism of Hillary Clinton.

What it really does, of course, is just make every sensible person mad and irritated at her and her followers.

2. Didn't Sanders write a rape fantasy essay?

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10026744194

So it's possible there is more out there.

3. Yeah I think so it was in the 70's

Then again the repubs and Bush went after Kerry's 1960's Vietnam military service. If Sanders is the nominee the republicans will try to make an issue of it.

7. CNN used the word "rape" in the linked article

From CNN: "New York (CNN)Bernie Sanders' campaign tried on Thursday to distance the presidential candidate from a 1972 essay in which he wrote -- among other things -- a women "fantasizes being raped by three men simultaneously.""

I didn't make it up.

18. That is a gross mischaracterization of the essay...

which you would know if you had actually read it.

Many women seem to be walking a tightrope now. Their qualities of love, openness, and gentleness were too deeply enmeshed with qualities of dependency, subservience, and masochism. How do you love without being dependent? How do you be gentle without being subservient? How do you maintain a relationship without giving up your identity and without getting strung out? How do you reach out and give your heart to your lover, but maintain the soul which is you?

And men. Men are in pain too. They are thinking, wondering. What is it they want from a woman? Are they at fault? Are they perpetuating this man-woman situation? Are they oppressors?

5. By all means she should bring it on

Play the victim card, whine about "sexism", that'll do wonders for the "strong independent woman' persona she tries so hard to project.

8. Doesn't mean they can't make some up. Lets face it, that implication

itself is laughable to anyone familiar with Bernies long record in public service, and yet the Hillary camp had no second thoughts about flinging it out there. They simply can't attack on the issues because lets face it, that is Hillary camps Achilles heel.

9. No.

This is such a waste of time argument, neither candidate is sexist.

I hate that we are wasting time on this.

19. You can thank CLinton for raising it out of thin air

If she had followed the pledge to run an "issue oriented campaign" and not gratuitously raised that personal sexism red flag the other day, we wouldn't be having this goddamn discussion.

We'd simply be arguing whether or not Sanders is an NRA loving gun nut. I actually miss those good old days. At least there was an actual issue involved.

But welcome to the next year, because this :politics of personal destruction" shit will continue throughout the primaries, and then it will take enhanced new forms in the GE with her as the candidate. Don't even think about the "scandals" from the 1990s that will be reemerging.

15. Just a thought?

Hardi har har.

You think you have been calculating but you are just looking at the primary. This kind of "thought" leaves a big imprint on those you may need.

16. Yes.

That goes both ways.

Won't effect me, I'm not withholding my vote because I don't get my way or candidates supporter insulted me... I'm bigger than that.

17. Goody for you.

I look at it as short term thinking.

The same kind of short term thinking that has brought us to this place environmentally, economically, racially and politically.

It is the macro of the micro...

Your candidate offers very little to the next 100 years. Her plans won't make good global impact. Short term thinking for a short term thinking public.

I posted once that voting for h was voting for the great unchange.

But I have been thinking. It is going to change, rapidly and not in a benign way.
