Bernie Sander's demographic is young, white and male.

Today's poll from NYT/CBS show that his demographics have remained unchanged throughout his campaign. So yes, he's at 30 percentage points in polls, but that 30% disproportionately reflects a demographic that doesn't represent the democratic party as a whole.

Talk about unrepresentative...
a poll of *418 Democratic primary voters*
is hardly representative of who will

These polls of cherry picked demographics

I had dropped out of college for a while and knew my draft notice would be coming, since I gave up my student deferment. So, I went to the local USAF recruiting office and talked to the recruiter there. I took the enlistment test, which I aced. I told him I had no intention of enlisting unless I got drafted.

He said, "No problem. When you get your notice to appear for a physical, come back here. I'll have you in the Air Force the next day."

I did get it and he did what he said he'd do. I ended up getting sent to Russian Language School at Syracuse University and doing interesting things during my four year enlistment.

For that, I was called a "Draft Dodger." I enlisted for four years, 1965-69, rather than being drafted for two. That was my bargain.

So, I know about the draft. Young men today aren't worried about being drafted. Warfare is increasingly being done by remote control, and there are plenty of volunteers willing to join the military. There's no need for a draft in the foreseeable future. It's not something that's on young men's minds. Yes, they have to register at 18. That's it. Wars today don't need draftees.

Young people as a whole are against war. They hate that all that money goes to bombs and not education, and only an idiot would think the world is a safe place to grow up in given all the weapons of mass destruction waiting to be launched in minutes.

That's why Bernie has so much support from the young, he represents a real change from the current dead end policies.

108. Umm, you can be against war without being "worried "

about being drafted because of selective services as you previously claimed. Young ppl are worried about a lot of things depending on where you live & what color your skin is. My kid's have to worry about just surviving bc of the rampant racism in this country irregardless of our social status. They will be able to go to college completely free & neither has any intention of getting anywhere near the armed forces. But survival is their top priority unlike the young white male.

And young women can volunteer right along with the young men.

Equal opportunity to kill people and break shit for corporate profit.

now just how the rich old white men (who never see the front lines of war along with their well protected offspring) of the Republican party can minimize the vote of those who must deal with the selfishness and self-centeredness of the well to do. I am sick of the powerful and rich.

The main opposition to a healthy planet and a more peaceful world are old rich white guys. And a few of their wives.

most young men are afraid of being called cowards, far more afraid of that than of getting killed in a war. That's the whole problem with our society and most other societies. The cause of all the wars, fights, and male violence in the world.

We have had enough men.....a woman can do a better job....she is a warrior....he has no record against Republicans...she has stood up to them and faced them down 30 years....Sanders telegraphs his punches.

You have to be cagey and crafty....he just isnt that...it will be a bare knuckle fight...and she is ready for battle. He is a lover not a scrapper.

you're simply in a minority.

I love all these posts who say statistics have to be wrong because I or my friends are in the minority.

Gee I don't have AIDS, and I don't know anyone who does, so that must mean no one has it and it's not a problem.

There is no sub breakdown for race or age under the age breakdown, etc.

Without further statistics you can't make assertions beyond the general trend. We don't know if Millennials favor Sanders equally as per gender, or not, etc.
