2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDo you remember this? When Obama went to a GOP retreat and ate their lunch?
He went there to talk to them about Obamacare. They were going to try and belittle him, and instead he made a fool out of them, and it was televised.
Someone called into the Randi Rhodes show today to remind us of this -
President Obama TRIED to work with them. He TRIED to answer their questions. But, instead, they wanted to destroy him - and our President put them in their place.
So the next time some goper says that this President is the most divisive President in history - this is a great point to shove down their throats.
Our President has been fighting for us all along. Unfortunately, his opponents have been sleazy Kocharoaches.

(4,243 posts)I think it was Mike Pence of Indiana who stood up and started spouting off some right wing gibberish and President Obama said, "Is there a question in there somewhere?"

(21,642 posts)I remember how the GOP's "health plan" was a brief rehash of sound bytes, with no substance, on pages with wide margins and large fonts. It made me think of a kid trying to pad a book report.

(35,015 posts)I didn't want him to try and work with the assholes, I wanted him to clobber them. Of course that's not who he is and I've changed my opinion on it...he had to try.

(24,452 posts)on the eve of President Obama's inauguration, I don't know how they can make such accusations with a straight face- yet they do and get away with it over and over again. This meeting needs to be publicized by every Dem candidate for Congress and brought up every single time they accuse Obama of "failing to lead" or of being "divisive".
