2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWill Bernie's defense of the AA community bolster him in the polls?
Obviously, this is in response to the other OP. I say it depends on how people absorb information regarding this video. If they only hear about it from news outlets then it's possible this could hurt him. If they watch the video then I think it will actually help him.

(14,177 posts)I think the media will figure out a way to make it look like he is stagnating in the polls.

(14,177 posts)Like when Jim Webb was obviously so grateful to Bernie in the first debate for being a brother in arms in regards to making things better for Vets. I saw the look of pain as they rallied with Bernie, that look of having been kicked to many times and finding a friend that will tell people to stop kicking them. It makes me happy on the other hand that he forcefully stated that he was there to talk about local issues that effect POC in Baltimore and not national security. He also put the press in their place for not covering the issues and now they want to talk about ISIS way to divert the attention.

(7,661 posts)even if he has not experienced their pain himself. I admire him since it is very rare these days.

(14,177 posts)It seems most of his anger is fueled by empathy and not by not getting his way. I wish everyone was like that. The world as we know it would change overnight.

(19,326 posts)Near the end of Bernie's address on democratic socialism at Georgetown Univ. on Nov. 19th ,
it was over 15 minutes long, ALL about how to deal with ISIS, the terrorist threat, the ME, etc.
yet it was completely ignored by the M$M.

(14,177 posts)But, Daesh is so far down on my list of concerns it barely registers. No I don't want more SB that should never happen. But, most people are still going to be more concerned about the things that impact them everyday. I am glad he is on the National Security issue, because I think he will do things differently, the opposite of doing the same and expecting a better outcome.

I'm not going to feed it.

(14,177 posts)And I think it's rude to interrupt when we are talking about issues that effect many POC everyday. And while were are at it many POC that have made it out of poverty maintain ties to their communities so they still feel the effects and know they can't do chit about cops beating people up for no damn reason. That they can't make the unemployment numbers better. So they still see broken communities even if they currently live someplace nicer. Yet, you wanna talk about not just AA and POC, ICU.

(9,086 posts)That's why I like this video. It just puts the message out there, loud and clear.
If we win, great. If we lose, too bad.
People can't badger black people or anyone else into supporting a candidate. Just put the message out there and hope for the best. This video does a great job of just getting the message out there as far as what Bernie supports and his general attitude.

(10,751 posts)...I am sick to death of smarmy scripted politicians with calculated responses, right down to the hand motions and facial expressions.
Give 'em hell Bernie!! Or more to the point, give 'em the truth and let 'em think it's hell!
